| out with the old and in with the new. I bought me a new L3400 since my 7800 was giving me rear diff troubles. The L3400 is a good bit bigger. I looked at the deere's but just wasnt as impressed with what they offer, they didnt suit my needs as well as the boater, at least at a decent price. I would of liked to of bought a deere off thump but they just didnt fit my needs. The deere seemed better for more farm like use, someone doing a bunch of brush hogging or other PTO type jobs would find it more suiting. The deere seemed to have a better engine, turbo even. For loader work the kubota seems better and it has a 3 speed hydro in an affordable package. But anyway, Kubota was giving me tons of shit about the warranty on my 7800. The powertrain warranty was good until aug of this year but they refused to fix it. I spent a lot of time on the phone and handed out a bunch of shit. Even filed a complaint with the state attorney general against kubota corp. The warranty clearly states rear axle housing and all parts within. So I held my ground and while kubotas warranty department still refused to repair it they sent out a warranty rep to look at it. I met with him and informed him he was fixing it. He tried spilling some shit about a worn shift fork being from excessive use and I had to tell him to stop, pretend for one minute that I wasnt an idiot and to start over at the begining. He shortly after agreed to fix it out of his budget which is seperate from kubotas warranty department budget. kubota sales depatment did toss me a cash credit though for my troubles to apply to a new tractor, thus the main reason I bought the new one. Were it not for that I'd probably have a deere just out of spite. Pristows, the dealer I bought both these from was real good to me through this, cant say enough about the owner of that joint and the deal they made me. kubota wouldnt do a loaner for me while mine was in the shop so the dealer brought me out a bobcat tractor to use. Mighty fine of them if I do say. Thump made me a good deal too but again, for my intended uses it just wasnt the one I needed. The new one comes tuesday, hopefully this time I wont need to deal with the warranty assholes but if I do they might remember me....hahah I was a real dickhead at times with them bastards. |

Sounds like the dealer really went above & beyond - hope you sent them corporate types a heads up on how well you were treated with them folks!
Side note: This is why I have such a hard time talking myself into buying anything brand new with a warranty. Seems that in the end buying cheaper & fixing it yourself when you have too is always the less stressfull & usually cheaper if not @ least the same $.

X2
I always laugh when a sales guy mentions warranty. Most are not worth the paper they are printed on. |

This was my one thing I didnt intend to have to work on. I got to crap much to keep up with as is, I didnt want to have to ever work on a mower or not be able to plow my driveway in the winter. Hopefully now I have what I want. |

I am glad to hear that Boyd and Pristows treated you good. Hopefully the new machine works like she should. _________________ FarmerTom- In desperate need of a new wheeling unit |
